A class action complaint was recently filed in a Pennsylvania court, alleging that Procter & Gamble failed to warn consumers that a number of Secret and Old Spice spray deodorants contained dangerous levels of carcinogen benzene. The products were recalled in November after independent testing revealed benzene levels higher than the 2 parts per million threshold recommended by the FDA. The class seeks to represent all consumers nationwide who purchased the products and contains claims for breach of warranty, fraudulent concealment, unjust enrichment and violations of PA consumer protection law.
