A Georgia state appeals court has reversed the dismissal of a former pipefitter’s claims that he contracted mesothelioma while working at Ford Motor Co. and Georgia Power Co. facilities in the 70s and 80s, holding that there were questions of fact of whether the companies had knowledge of the dangers of asbestos while he worked on their sites. The panel, however, affirmed summary judgment for defendant Piedmont Hospital, finding that the plaintiff’s direct employer knew of the dangers of asbestos at that facility, Law360 reports.
