J&J Agrees to $297M TX-Specific Opioid Settlement

Johnson & Johnson has agreed to a Texas-specific settlement of $297 million to resolve claims that the company fueled the state’s opioid epidemic. The settlement guarantees a quicker payout than the state would receive through a proposed national settlement that includes up to $5 billion from J&J and $21 billion from three drug distributors to resolve claims by states and local governments.
