In an article published in the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, researchers report a link between the interstitial cystitis medication Elmiron and retinal maculopathy in a group of patients studied at the University of California, Los Angeles. The researchers say that 20 percent of patients developed retinal damage from taking the drug, while the other percentage who didn’t took a lower dosage of Elmiron or for a shorter period, the New York Injury Law News reports.
