A Texas federal court jury awarded five plaintiffs who were injured by Johnson & Johnson’s and DuPuy’s Pinnacle metal-on-metal hip implants $500 million, following a two-month trial. The jury found that the hip implants were defectively designed after deliberating for a week. The verdict included $140 million in compensatory damages and $360 million in punitive damages.
